Okay guys, now it's time to get this thing looking like a playhouse! Today I have photos of the framing portion of the project. If you're not caught up yet, don't forget to read DIY Crate Wood Playhouse - Part 1: The Platform and DIY Crate Wood Playhouse - Part 2: The Windows. I will warn you, things do get a bit technical here, particularly when you get to cutting angles for the roof.
Starting out with a simple wall. It may seem obvious, but make sure you space out your wall joists so that there is room for your windows where you want them.
There's gonna be lots of thinking through/contemplating/staring off into space going on...

And if you're working with a hard deadline, there may also be lots of working well past the sun's quitting time. Lucky we were doing this before the time changed!
Also keep in mind any large furniture that may be going in, like the play kitchen I made out of an old entertainment center. That piece had to have the walls built up right around it, because there was no way it was ever going to fit in once the walls went up. Adelaide, you just better not ever ask to have that moved out. AIN'T. GONNA. HAPPEN!
Time for the rafters! It's really starting to look like a playhouse now!

holy cow! this is incredible! i have dreams of building something like this for my kids in the future but this just blew away all of my expectations. time to get back to the drawing board and start planning!
