Today I'm going to share with you a few photos of how Jordan built the windows for Adelaide's playhouse. If you haven't already, check out DIY Crate Wood Playhouse - Part 1: The Platform. Again, I don't have specifics for you, as I was busy with the little chickadee while Jordan did most of the work ;), but I do have enough photos to give you a good general idea of how it all came together.
First, we we made the window boxes. We did three boxes to fit double windows and one box to fit a single window.
Next, Jordan cut the wood for the window frames.
Time to begin assembling. First glue...
Check to make sure they're square...
And then nail.
As you can see in this photo, Jordan routed out a small strip on each piece of wood on one side of each frame. This is where the plexiglass will fit in.
Then to two sides are sandwiched together with the plexiglass in the middle. Glue and nail again.
Finally, Adelaide attached the windows to the box with hinges.
Okay, maybe Jordan actually did that part too ;)
And, tada! The finished product will come together like this:
Last business of the day, dust the sawdust off the old dog who didn't care enough to move.
